Arrival in Lombok

Everything you need to know about your arrival in Lombok Island, Indonesia. Includes information on travelling from Singapore, visas, and arrival card.

The airline Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is the only airline offering direct flights from Singapore, which is very convenient for us. There are four flights per week, and although they may not be at the most convenient times, it is the best way to get to Lombok. Find out next everything you need to know for a smooth arrival in Lombok.

Both times we travelled to Lombok, we were the last passengers to leave the airport, believe it or not! As I mentioned in the Before traveling to Lombok post, as soon as we got off the plane, we went to the Visa on Arrival (VOA) queue, which was quite fast. I can’t say the same about the Immigration queue. Every line took ages, but we had the knack of choosing the SLOWEST one of all.

If you have internet on your phone (for example, with an Airalo data package), you can start filling in the customs form online while you wait at Immigration using the link next to where you bought the VOA. For those without mobile data, Customs also offer Wi-Fi access or provide some computers to submit the forms after clearing Immigration.

It’s also possible to submit the customs declaration up to three days before the expected date of  arrival in Indonesia. Here is the link.

New entry requirements for Indonesia from 1 September 2025: electronic arrival card “All Indonesia”

All foreign passengers travelling to Indonesia will be required to present an electronic arrival declaration, available through the All Indonesia app or on the official website here. This single declaration replaces the former health card and customs form, which previously had to be completed separately.

The requirement came into effect on 1 September 2025 at four entry points in the country. Other airports, seaports and entry points introduced simultaneously a trial phase, but the measure will become mandatory nationwide from 1 October 2025.

The arrival card is free of charge and can be completed up to three days before entering the country, or upon arrival at the airport.

You can read the full announcement on the new requirements on the Indonesian Immigration website here.

Tip about Lombok Airport

Since this information is requested in some forms (or at least used to be), here is some useful thing to know:

Lombok’s airport is officially called Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, although it is also known as Lombok International Airport. Its airport code is LOP.

After finally completing the arrival procedures and still inside the airport, there are some stalls where you can buy local SIM cards, as well as a supermarket where you can buy snacks and drinks.

From the time we got off the plane until we left the airport, it always took us about two hours! Which is quite a long time, especially when travelling with children. (These waiting times will hopefully improve once the new electronic arrival card is introduced on 1 October 2025!)

At the airport exit, we always had a car arranged by the hotel to take us to our accommodation, which I recommend as the airport exit can be a bit chaotic with the number of people offering transport.
