Hotel in Hoi An – great tips to choose your accommodation

Accommodation tips on where to stay in Hoi An near the historic centre and by the beach, including 5-stars to more budget-friendly Hotel in Hoi An options.

In this post, you’ll find recommendations to pick your hotel in Hoi An, starting with our experience at the incredible La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Spa. At the end of the post, I’ve also included other accommodation recommendations in Hoi An’s Old Town, as well as beachfront options, ideal for those visiting the city during the hot and dry season between February and July.

Hoi An is such a charming city with many great accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets. We stayed at the La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Spa, which is not quite in the city centre, but it is close enough that you can walk to the old town in 20 minutes.

The hotel also offers a free shuttle service to both the historic centre and An Bang beach. It’s also very easy to get a Grab here, which is the equivalent of Uber in Asia.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and so are the rooms. We spent some time by the saltwater pool and it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and even played with Maria Rita, which is always a bonus! There is a small grocery store just outside the hotel which offers a very convenient laundry service, which we used and found very useful. I highly recommend staying at the La Siesta Resort & Spa, it was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at!

Other suggestions for Hotel in Hoi An

Here are some other highly rated hotel in Hoi An suggestions:

La Charm Hoi An Hotel & Spa – centrally located but away from the hustle and bustle.

Son Hoi An Boutique Hotel & Spa – located about a 10-minute walk from the centre, this hotel offers free bicycles for guests.

Little Town Villa – a central and budget option recommended by my friend Ana.

📣🌧️ Special Tip for the Rainy Season

If you are planning to visit Hoi An during the rainy season, I would recommend staying a little further away from the historic centre. As mentioned in the Arrival in Hoi An post, this area is prone to flooding from September to November, and staying on higher ground can make a difference to your experience. The centre of Hoi An can become completely flooded at times.

Beachfront recommendations – Hotel in Hoi An on the beach

Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort & Spa – Victoria Hoi An is located right on the beachfront and has the added advantage of offering a complimentary shuttle service to Hoi An’s Old Town, which is around a 20-minute journey away.

Boutique Hoi An Resort – This resort is also located right on the beachfront, not far from Victoria Hoi An, although I think the beach in front of Boutique Hoi An is the nicer of the two. Like Victoria Hoi An, it also offers a complimentary shuttle service to Hoi An’s Old Town.

📢 Update (July 2026): Beach restoration works are currently taking place along the stretch of coastline in front of both resorts, including the replenishment of sand and rocks. This is a temporary project, so the beach is expected to return to its usual condition once the works have been completed.
